Dan Auerbach - Trouble Weighs A Ton
This is the opening track to Dan Auerbach’s solo album Keep It Hid. Dan of course is the guitarist and lead singer of The Black Keys. It’s a great album and if you like The Black Keys you should check it out. Actually, you should check it out even if you don’t like The Black Keys because it has a different feel.
The song is pretty straight forward. Mostly G and C chords with a few D’s thrown in and a brief appearance by the Am chord. There is a capo on the second fret. You can find the tabs for the song here.
I’m still finding the toughest part on a lot of the songs I’m learning is getting the rhythm down. I can play the chord changes just fine, but getting the rhythm just seems to elude me on some of the songs, this one in particular. If you were to match my version to the recording (or even try to sing a long) you’d see the rhythm is pretty wonky. Last week I did I’ll Be Your Man and that song has a pretty straight forward rhythm that’s hard to miss. Trouble Weighs A Ton, like my cover of Truth Doesn’t Make A Noise, is a lot trickier to me. This is obviously something I’m going to have to work on.
Guitar: Rickenbacker 330
Amp: Vox AC15CC
